Liver Problems

(Congestion, Sluggishness, Fatty Degeneration or Enlargement)

DIET

Follow the health diet with emphasis on raw, foods grown organically, also high-quality protein foods are essential to combat liver diseases. Brewer’s yeast yields the best complete proteins and are also very rich in B-vitamins that are again vital for liver health. Goat’s mild drunk raw (if available) and homemade cottage cheese.

Especially beneficial are the following foods:

  • Artichoke
  • Calcium
  • Cucumber
  • Endives
  • Garlic
  • Grains
  • Lemon
  • Raw nuts almonds are the best
  • Sesame seed butter (Tahini) has a high content of methionine and therefore extra beneficial
  • Sprouted seeds

Eat small meals frequently, never over-eat and until the complaint is no more, avoid all oils and fats. The following are highly beneficial when treating liver complaints

  • Beet powder
  • Raw beets
  • Red beet juice
FOODS TO AVOID
  • ALCOHOL!!!
  • Salt
  • Sugar in any form, for sweetener use honey
  • Strong spices such as, black or white pepper and mustard
  • Unsaturated oils

Alcohol damages the liver by robbing it of all B-Vitamins.

Poisons that are present in the environment are one of the biggest causes of liver damage, so it is best if the patient excludes all canned, refined, processed and all foods that have chemical additives from their diet. When taking vitamin supplements make sure that the supplements are not synthetic, the reason being that with synthetic, prolonged ingestion can cause damage to the liver. It goes without saying that drugs should be avoided.

Beneficial Treatments

Begin treatment with a 7 – 10 day juice fast use beet juice as well as other juices as it is very good for treating liver diseases. if the patient is suffering from some sort of toxic or clogged liver complaint, then the following special detoxification juice fast should be carried out for 3 days.

Fill a jug with 2 quarts of water, add sweetener or honey then add the juice of 10 lemons to the water and give the patient a glass full every 2 hours. Also twice daily mix half a glass of green vegetable juice with half a glass of red beet juice.

Once the 3 day fast is over the patient should be put on the health diet. If the complaint persists for more than 2 weeks after this then repeat the 3 day juice diet.

One of the best liver and gall bladder cleansing methods I have come across, which is used widely is to take 2 ounces of fresh lemon juice and 2 ounces of olive oil, mix them together in a cup and have the patient take it for 2 days in a row, on the third day give the patient a double dose i.e. 4 ounces of each mixed together.

On the fourth morning have the patient take an enema such as Fynnon’s Salts, then later on in the day have him take another laxative mixed with a cup of coffee. The patient should try to retain this in his body as long as possible make sure excretion is delayed to the last minute (this should be around 20 minutes or so). Repeat the coffee enema in the evening.

I have recommended this treatment for gallstone and is extremely effective for both gall bladder and liver cleansing
