Seborrhoea
This is an excessive excretion of sebum (lubrication of the skin. Protects the skin from becoming sodden when immersed in water or cracking when exposed to the sun or other dry atmosphere. It also protects the body from bacteria or fungi) causing oiliness of the face and a greasy scalp. The reasons for suffering from this complaint are known but assumptions have been made that Androgen hormone (male sex hormone) plays a large part. This condition mostly affects boys in their adolescence If seborrhoea does not clear up by adulthood, then there are usually other skin problems such as dermatitis or acne vulgaris.
